Composition. Haitongpi ( Cortex Erythrinae ) 6 g,Tougucao ( Herba Impatientis ) 6 g, Ruxiang ( Olibanum) 6 g, Moyao (Myrrha) 6 g, Danggui (Radix An-gelicae Sinensis ) 5 g, Chuanjiao ( Pericarpium Zanthoxyli) 10 g, Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong) 3 g,Honghua ( Flos Carthami ) 3 g, Weilingxian ( RadixClematidis ) 3 g, Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae ) 3 g,Fangfeng (Radix Saposhinokoviae) 3 g and Baizhi (Radix Angelicae Dahuricae ) 2 g.
 
Action. Activating the collaterals to relieve pare. It is used for injury of muscles and other soft tissues in the early stage.
 
Administration: This recipe can be decocted to take orally, or used for fumigating, washing and fomenting preparation.

Actions Regulating blood circulation to relieve pain and relaxing tendons. It is used for injury of muscles and other soft tissues in the middle and late stages.

Administration. This recipe can be decocted for external washing or for hot compress, artificial Shexiang(Moschus) may be excluded.

Actions：Promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis，expelling pathogenic wind to relieve pain，relaxing tendons and soothing the meridians．It is often used for pain due to prolonged unhealed wounds and blood stasis． Administration：The medicines are decocted in waterfor fumigating，washing and fomenting．Add 45 g of 01d  vinegar to each dose．One dose a day．

Formula for Dispersing Pathogenic Wind and Cold
   
Composition：Oianghuo(Rhizoma Seu Radix No—topterygii)，Baizhi(Radix Angelicae Dahuricae)．Daggui(Radix Angelicae Sinensis)，Xixin(Herba Asari)。Yuanhua(用os Genkwa)，Baishaoyao(Radix Paeoniae Alba)，Wuzhuyu(Fructus E,vodiae)，Rougui(Cortex Cinnamomi)．A11 the medicines are taken in an equal quantity，and several red—skinned shallots with the root are added． http://www.tcmwell.com

Actions．．Warming the meridians and dispersing pathogenic cold，expelling wind to relieve pain．It is indicated in pain in the tendons and bone caused by rheumatic arthralgia syndrome．

Composition：Dangguiwei(Radix Angelicae Sinen-sis)，Chishaoyao(Radix Paeoniae Rubra)，Pianjianghuang(Rhizoma Wenyujin Concisa)，Shenjincao(Herba Lycopodti)，Songiie(Terebinthinae)，Haitongpi(Cortex Erythrinae)，Luodeda(Herba Centellae)，Lulutong(Fructus Liquidambaris)，Qianghuo(Rhizoma Seu Radix Notopterygii)，Duhuo(Radix Angelicae Pubescentis)，Fangfeng(Radix Saposhinokoviae)，Xuduan(Radix Dipsaci)，Gancao(Radix Glycyrrhizae)．For problems in the upper limb，Chuanxiong(Rhizoma Chuangodong)and Guizhi(Ramulus Cinnamomi)are added．For problems in the lower limb，Niuxi(Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae)and Muxiang(Radix Aucklandiae)are added．For cases with severe pain，Ruxiang (Olibanum)and Moyao(Myrrha)are added．

Cautions in Medicated Hot Compress
   
Clothes should not be dirtied in operation，and the patient should avoid attack by wind and cold aftertreatment．
   
The temperature of medicine should be controlled properly in accordance with the treated areas，condition and age of patients．Generally，it should be within
 the endurance of the hand or avoid scald．If the temperature is too high，it will damage the skin．If it is too low，the therapeutic effects will be poor．Special attention should be paid to avoiding scald in the aged patients and patients with slow sensitivity．
   
The towel should be flat and medicines should be evenly spread on the towel SO as to avoid scald．
   
Selection of medicines and formulae should be made strickly according to concrete conditions.  I or example，medicines with strong stimulation should avoid being applied to the head，face，lumbosacral region or other sensitive areas，otherwise blister will appear and the skin is damaged．Children have delicate skin，SO this kind of medicines should be less used or not used on them at a11．For pregnant women，some medicines like artificial Shexiang(Mocchus)should be forbidden in case miscarriage and other adverse effects sheuld occur．

   
If hypersensitivity of the skin occurs in practice，change the formulae or stop the treatment 1mmediately．If cases of broken skin take place，an appropriate application of medicines should be selected in agreement with patients conditions and the diseased areas．
